Acupuncture is a practice which has been in existence for more than 3000 years. It is performed by inserting the needles through the superficial layer of the skin at specific points of the body. It aims to regulate Qi and blood of the entire body via the meridian channels and collaterals. Often applied as an independent treatment, it can also be combined with other Chinese medicine treatments including Tuina, moxibustion, or herbal medicine, or allopathic medicine for pain management, maintenance therapy, and preventive medicine.
